Botha & Barnard company was founded in 1950 in its current location on the world famous Garden Route in South Africa. As sole proprietor since 1971, the third generation of the Botha family has well established itself as outstanding furniture manufacturers.
The late Gert Botha passed away in 1986 after which his son, Koos – the current sole proprietor of Botha & Barnard – took over control of the business from his mother, Danes. Koos, together with his wife, Marlene, form the heart of the business – managing the factory and exercising strict quality control. Their excellent managerial skills ensure that each piece of furniture is precisely designed, perfectly manufactured and successfully delivered with optimal customer satisfaction.
Their two children, Gerhard and Inge, are currently involved in G&K Mouldings – an affiliate of Botha & Barnard of which Gerhard is the sole proprietor – where raw timber is processed for skirtings, architraves, solid wood flooring, decking and other moulding and carpentry requirements. Gerhard’s wife, Karin, manages the financial side of the business.
Inge’s husband, Raymond, is in control of the Joinery Department of Botha & Barnard which specialises in the manufacturing of high quality, custom made windows and doors in solid timber.
Apart from the family members, the rest of the team consists of management staff, truck drivers, trained tradesmen, machinists, sanders, assistants and general labourers – some being part of the company for over two decades now.
Being a family business is all about teamwork – the foundation of Botha & Barnard ’s success story. Each employee strives towards a common goal: offering exceptional value for money and ensuring client returns.
Botha & Barnard offers a fine heirloom, which future generations will be very proud to inherit.
